Hot honey sounds good for just about everything, doesn't it? I find myself adding honey and garlic in many dishes I whip together for my family. So, why not have some hot honey on hand ready to go and add some spice and flavor?

Reasons to make homemade garlic hot honey

I'm most excited about using this hot honey in our homemade fire ciders and herbal remedies. However, there's no doubt it would make a great addition to endless recipes. I may even use it in my tea next time I have a sore throat.

This recipe uses a fast infusion, using heat to infuse the spice and garlic into your honey vs letting it sit for several weeks and infuse naturally.

Tips for your best homemade garlic hot honey

  • If possible, use Manuka honey. Manuka honey is the only type that can withstand some heat and retain it's health benefits. It's not something readily available in the country I'm currently living, so I use raw organic local honey, which is next best!
  • Infuse your honey on low heat. Honey will bubble and even solidify when cooled if heated too much.
  • This honey is only mildly spicy. Feel free to add more peppers if you need more of a kick!
