Lavender lemon rice krispy treats. Light, airy & perfect for spring 🌼

🌼3 tablespoons butter (43 grams)
🌼1 package 10 oz bag, 1 1/4 cup, (280 grams or about 40 regular sized marshmallows)
🌼6 cups Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal (158 grams)
🌼1 tablespoon fresh dried lavender buds
🌼zest of two large lemons
🌼1 tablespoon vanilla extract

INSTRUCTIONS
🌼Prepare a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan by placing parchment paper inside and allowing the sides to hang over the top for easy removal.
🌼In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows, vanilla extract, lemon zest and lavender and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
🌼Add rice krispies cereal. Stir until well incorporated.
Using a spatula or parchment paper evenly press mixture into your baking pan.
🌼Allow rice krispy treats to cool for at least an hour in their pan before removing. Cut into rectangles.

NOTES
🌸 Best served same day as made
Store no more than two days at room temperature in airtight container.
🌸To freeze, place in layers separated by wax paper in airtight container.
🌸Freeze for up to 6 weeks. To thaw, let them sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving.

Feeling pretty well adjusted to life in the DC area, but I’m really enjoying the spring festivities they have in store. My schedule is packed with all sorts of blossom events. I’ve got my cute dresses ready and my camera in tow, excited to go out and explore! :)
