Matcha chamomile tea is a beautiful bitter tea tonic. With anti-inflammatory and antioxidant rich components, and a soothing flavor and stunning emerald color - this homemade tea blend is self care in a cup.

I found myself drinking matcha and chamomile tea separately for several weeks, and decided to combine them. I loved the floral taste of chamomile combined with the bitter flavors in matcha. Both teas on their own are some of the most popular beverages in the world, as their natural medicinal components are well researched. Combining them just made sense! This tea is my "herbal aspirin" as I've been dealing with some pain, and it's anti inflammatory effects may help reduce pain and the underlying causes of inflammation. The research on both chamomile tea and matcha tea as beneficial drinks to promote overall well being are highly promising. Both teas have been used as medicinal treatments for a number of ailments for thousands of years. Who knew a simple infusion could do so much?

Why we drink matcha tea daily

Matcha tea packs a lot of punch. The health benefits of this powerful tea come from it's high presence of antioxidants. Preparing your Matcha chamomile tea

For matcha, you’ll add 1 teaspoon of matcha powder to a bowl or cup and 2 ounces of almost boiled water. Then you whisk the powder with a bamboo whisk for one minute until it becomes thick and frothy. Add 4 more ounces of water. Then add a tea filter into your tea and steep 1 tablespoon of dried chamomile flowers for 2-3 minutes. Add honey if desired and enjoy.

When is the best time to drink your matcha chamomile tea?

I drink this tea blend mid morning due to it's caffeine content. Chamomile is notoriously known to help improve ability to fall asleep quickly and to help you stay asleep, but matcha contains caffeine, therefore this is not recommended as an evening drink.
