A bit about Sarah Buckley
I’m Sarah, originally from Connecticut and currently based in Virginia (zone 7b), where I live with my husband and our two children.
I founded Frolic and Fare in 2020 during a deeply transitional season of life. What began as a personal creative outlet soon evolved into something more meaningful: a place where food, nature, and thoughtful living intersect. Today, Frolic and Fare reflects my passion for refined seasonal cooking, botanical ingredients, and creating beauty through simple, intentional rituals.
Our family relocates frequently for my husband’s career, which has meant stepping away from my own professional path more than once. Rather than see that as a limitation, I chose to create something lasting, no matter where we land. Frolic and Fare became my way of building continuity through creativity: developing recipes, working with garden grown ingredients, and sharing moments around the table that feel both elegant and deeply personal.
What began as a small creative practice has grown into a space dedicated to seasonal inspiration, botanical baking, and the art of elevating everyday food.
My recipes lean mostly toward the sweet, with the occasional savory dish, and are always guided by the seasons. I’m particularly drawn to fragrant, fleeting ingredients fresh herbs, edible flowers, and bright citrus. Much of my inspiration comes from the garden, where blossoms and herbs often find their way into tender scones, delicate cookies, and simple, elegant cakes. Whenever something begins to bloom, I can’t help but imagine the ways it might elevate a dessert pressed into decoration, steeped into a syrup, or infused into sugar.
