SCIENTIST, RPSGT, aromatherapist and herbalist
I’m Sarah Buckley and prior to starting Frolic and Fare I studied science and then sleep medicine, where I worked in research. After having children and moving to Africa, I accidentally became interested in diy products. There was a limited selection and nothing felt safe to me. When I went to larger countries with more selection, I was surprised to see that nearly all of the products and food I looked forward to using again had questionable, undesirable ingredients.
Frolic and Fare was born as a creative outlet to navigate cooking, baking, and formulating most everything we use from scratch. My philosophy is, what would my great grandma Sipe do? I still remember playing in the creek behind her house and the clothes hanging on her clothes line. These slow moments are deeply instilled in me as desirable.
Being a mom and creating all of these items was at first a challenge and learning curve, so I decided to make the process beautiful and whimsical. I’ve always been a creative person, and I wanted to share what I’d been learning. I decided to dive into creating this efficient, homemade life, without sacrificing much at all. This is a modern, delicious, convenience filled world after all. I don’t believe it has to be one way or the other. It was a deliberate choice that this life could be beautiful, and so many people were curious – and so, that’s how this story was born.
