The delicate lilac flowers, with their pale hue, imbue the lemonade with a subtle sweetness that tantalizes the taste buds. The soft citrus notes of the lemonade perfectly complement the floral undertones, creating a harmonious blend of flavors that is simply irresistible. Welcome to refreshing lilac lemonade.

There’s something about the delicate beauty of lilacs that steals my heart every time. I can’t help but feel a flutter in when I catch their sweet fragrance. And now, my love for these lovely blooms has only deepened since I stumbled upon the perfect pairing: lilac-infused simple syrup and lilac infused honey mixed with freshly squeezed lemon.

According to Floriography, the language of flowers, lilacs symbolize Love, Innocence, Tranquility.

Lilacs, with their delicate beauty, are not only pleasing to the eye but also to the palate? As a member of the olive family, they offer a unique flavor that can be enjoyed in so many ways. Imagine plucking each flower off its stem and immersing them in cream to create a fragrant milk perfect for adding to your favorite cakes and buttercream. The essence of lilacs can also be infused into sugar, creating a sweet and unforgettable addition to your favorite treats. And for the ultimate indulgence, savor the flavor of lilacs in a creamy, dreamy scoop of lilac ice cream. Or, for a truly romantic experience, try drizzling raw local honey infused with lilacs over your favorite dessert. Trust me, it’s worth it to explore the many ways to enjoy these divine blossoms.

How to sweeten this lemonade:

Without a doubt – lemonade needs some sweetness ! We added a combination of lilac simple syrup with regular granulated sugar for a beautiful flavor infusion, however you can absolutely skip the granulated sugar altogether, and either use lilac sugar or use lilac infused honey especially if you prefer a more tart lemonade. You can taste and tweak to your desired sweetness.

How to make lilac syrup for lemonade:

This 1:1 ratio is so simple, all it requires is 1 cup of water to 1 cup of sugar and ½ cup of fresh lilac petals. I also add ¼ cup of honey for its beautiful ability to balance the floral flavor in this syrup. You will love it! Grab the full printable recipe here.
