lavender iced coffee for a pick me up that calms you down
Hello loves! How are you doing? Week three of no school and staying in here during corona quarantine 2020. All in all, in good spirits! I hope you are feeling the same. Though homeschool is better than anticipated, I am tired! Drinking far more coffee than usual. I started drinking some lavender iced coffee and now I can’t get enough!
I tried this recipe last week, and I haven’t been able to stop drinking it ever since. While I love coffee and it’s the aroma and the ritual of starting our day with a hot cup, truthfully – I never drink more than a sip or two of my coffee in the morning, and it always gets cold and thrown away. I do not like to waste anything, and frequently turn our coffee grounds into scrubs. (See my exfoliating coffee + cedarwood scrub) but this coffee is different. I am so thankful I have found a way to enjoy my cold coffee. I honestly have to use willpower to not drink more than two large cups of this lavender iced coffee a day because I really enjoy it! I’m officially a coffee lover now.
Pin for later!
To make lavender iced coffee, I use lavender infused honey, strong fresh brewed coffee, and oat milk. You can use any cream of choice!
When making iced coffee, I simply brew a pot (8 cups) and add my other ingredients. Then I let it cool in the fridge before enjoying, and serve it over ice!
If you don’t have lavender infused honey ready to use and want to make this iced coffee today, go ahead and pour one cup of honey in a sauce pan. Add in a tablespoon of dried lavender buds. Over very low heat, stir in your lavender. After five minutes, strain the lavender from the honey and use in your coffee.
- 8 cups brewed coffee
- 1 cup milk or cream of choice
- 1 cup lavender infused honey
- Brew a pot (8 cups) of coffee, stronger than you would if you were to brew it for a hot cup.
- After brewing, pour into a glass or pitcher once it has cooled slightly.
- Pour in your honey or other sweetener to dissolve (it will dissolve evenly in heated coffee)
- Add your milk or cream.
- Cover and let chill in fridge.
- Serve over ice.
